yes, the recipe can be halved. You wouldn’t need to change the cooking time.

What is parboiled rice? In live in the UK and have never heard of it…

Can the quantities be halved? As only me & kids would eat . Hubbie is off rice

In reply to Sharon. I would very strongly suggest reading a manual that came with your electric pressure cooker. It’s essential to know how to operate it. Manual release means you manually move the valve to venting position

In reply to Sandy. To be honest, I’ve never cooked brown rice in Instant pot. I would look online to see how long brown rice would cook in IP and then follow the same recipe but with that brown rice timing. My guess is that 20 min should work since parboiled rice is similar to brown rice in terms of cooking times but I can guarantee since I haven’t tried

This looks and sounds delicious, Julia, and I love the tip about using parboiled rice! I have to admit I’ve never tried cooking with it, but it sounds wonderful for so many reasons. Can’t wait to try it ASAP!
